Foreign Minister Tomas Petricek sees human rights as a crucial part of the country's past and present diplomacy, with the 1989 fall of communism being a restart after 40 years of totalitarianism, he said at the Afternoon With Czech Diplomacy event today. The event was organised by the Foreign Ministry on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the fall of communism in former Czechoslovakia. Petricek said the country's clear priority after the 1989 Velvet Revolution is its membership in Western structures.
