Hostage standoff in Kezmarok ends after several hours with suspect's arrest

A seven-hour hostage standoff in a store in the town of Kezmarok (Presov region) ended early on Thursday with the arrest of a suspect, an eyewitness has confirmed for TASR. Police negotiators communicated with the man who held a woman hostage for several hours. "Finally, the police managed to get the woman to a safe place at around 12.30am and to bring out the man who had been holding her about an hour later," the witness said.
