The introduction of migrant quotas once again threatens European cities and the Hungarian government maintains the position that the only acceptable quota is for sending back migrants, the government spokesman said. Istvan Hollik cited a statement by European Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship Dimitris Avramopoulos who again urged member states on Tuesday to approve a migration quota included in a recent Maltese agreement. Hollik told a press conference that the Hungarian government would not yield to pressure and will not approve a mandatory settlement quota.
