The threat faced by Ukraine is also a threat to Slovakia as its immediate neighbour, Prime Minister Heger told the media before the Government session on Wednesday, adding that what is needed is a de-escalation of tensions and a return to the negotiating table. "On behalf of the Slovak Republic, I can reiterate our consistent stance: we support the sovereignty, territorial integrity and, of course, independence of Ukraine. As a democratic country based on these principles, we cannot act otherwise," he stressed.
