Prime Minister Eduard Heger on Tuesday spoke on the phone with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, with the two leaders focusing on the situation concerning energy supplies and Ukraine, TASR has learnt from the Government Office. The premier and chancellor concurred that diversification of oil and gas supplies to Europe is essential. Liquefied natural gas appears to be one of the alternatives, thanks to which a larger volume of the commodity could flow to Slovakia. Scholz stressed that building LNG-supply infrastructure is important not only for Germany, but also for other countries dependent on raw materials from Russia.
