Heger: Govt won't hold away-from-home sessions like former cabinet

July 21st, 2021

Prime Minister Eduard Heger has told TASR that the government does not intend to hold any away-from-home sessions in districts across Slovakia like the previous cabinet did, saying that the idea is currently off the table. The away-from-home sessions of the previous government were "a bit of spectacle", Heger said. They visited districts in order to show up and receive a round of applause, he insisted. "We, on the other hand, want to engage in real politics," said Heger, who has visited a number of areas across the country during the summer. The premier said it was important for him to meet people in various regions so that he could speak to them and discuss their problems.
