Health minister supports two-year postponement of presidential election

May 6th, 2020

Polish Health Minister Lukasz Szumowski has told the Onet.pl portal that in his view, the country's presidential election should be held in the traditional manner rather than by mail but two years after the scheduled May 10 date. The minister added that declaring a state of natural disaster was no remedy for the threat posed by the coronavirus epidemic. He also told Onet.pl that organising elections for May 10 "would be extremely difficult and is a complicated process."
