Havel remembered in Budapest conference

Budapest hosted an international conference dedicated to the memory of one-time Czechoslovak and Czech president Vaclav Havel (1936-2011) on Wednesday. Contributors to the event highlighted Havel's commitment to democratic values and human rights. In a message addressed to the participants, Hungary's one-time president Arpad Goncz, chief patron of the conference, said it was "important and timely" to revoke Havel's memory so as to provide a model for the youth.
