Waste from an illegal dump in Ivanka pri Dunaji (Bratislava region) has contaminated groundwater in the area, Interior Minister Roman Mikulec and Environment Minister Jan Budaj said on Thursday. According to the environment minister, the level of contamination is very serious. He said he was shocked when he learnt about the composition of the toxic substances found in the dump. At the same time, he remarked that the dump was not created overnight and that a number of clerks must have provided cover for it. Mikulec said an investigation into the matter has been launched.
