Most parents want schools in Slovakia to remain open even if the pandemic situation in the country worsens, according to a poll carried out for the Education Ministry, the results of which were presented by Education Minister Branislav Groehling during his visit to schools in the town of Levoca (Presov region) on Thursday. "I'm glad that Slovakia has clearly said that it wants to have schools open and that we all do view education as important," the minister said in connection with the poll, which was carried out on a sample of 1,000 respondents in January. "The poll showed that 82.3 percent of the respondents want schools to be open even during a worsening situation, while 13 percent said that they should be closed and 4.7 percent were unable to express an opinion on it."
