Hungary's Green Party (formerly LMP) has announced a signature drive to make the government apply changes to the national strategy of nuclear waste disposal. Greens parliamentary group leader Laszlo Lorant Keresztes slammed the government for its promoting nuclear energy, whereas, he said, it is "not cheap, nor is it environmentally friendly or safe". He argued that calculations of the price of nuclear energy do not include costs of the closure of nuclear plants or those of nuclear waste disposal.
