Activists from the Greenpeace environmental organisation ended their three-day long coal protest in the Port of Gdansk, northern Poland calling on Poles to mobilise their efforts for climate protection, Greenpeace representatives said on Thursday. Ten Greenpeace activists who on Wednesday morning climbed cranes in a coal terminal to halt their operation and stayed there overnight decided to come down from the cranes and surrendered to the police. Earlier, they hung flags on the cranes with the slogan "Poland without coal 2030". The activists also appealed to Poles to join strikes for climate scheduled for September 20. The remaining 18 out of 28 protesters decided to end their protest on Wednesday evening.
