Slovakia recorded a public deficit of 1.1 percent of GDP in 2018, amounting to a year-on-year increase by 0.1 percentage point, whereas the debt was cut down y-o-y by 1.9 percentage points to 49.4 percent of GDP, reads the 2018 annual report approved by the Government on Wednesday. Hence, Slovakia belongs among the countries with public debt significantly below the EU average.
