September 8th, 2021
The Government on Wednesday expressed its regret over crimes committed by the Slovak fascist wartime state (1939-45), in particular for its issuing on September 9, 1941 of the so-called Jewish Code, a set of anti-Jewish regulations that restricted the rights of Jews, allowed their deportations and ultimately led to their deaths in concentration camps. The Cabinet did so in anticipation of the 80th anniversary of the issuing of the code, which will be observed on Thursday.
