Andrzej Duda, Poland's president, wants Adam Glapinski to have a second term as the head of the country's central bank, according to radio station RMF24. The station, which cited its own sources, also said that Glapinski had competitors, including Marek Dietl, the head of the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE). Under Polish legislation, the governor of central bank, the NBP, is appointed by the parliament upon the request of the country's president. The term of office lasts six years and the same person can hold the position for two terms only. Glapinski's first term expires in June 2022.
