German president presents Czech writer Rudis with Order of Merit

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier presented Czech Berlin-based writer Jaroslav Rudis, along with 14 other personalities, with the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for their culture activities and contribution to Czech-German relations in Berlin today. The orders were be presented on the occasion of the German Unity Day celebrated on 3 October, marking the reunification of the Federal Republic of Germany (West Germany) and the German Democratic Republic (East Germany) in 1990.
