German Chancellor Scholz to visit Prague on Aug 29

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will visit Prague on Monday, August 29, which will be his first visit to Czechia in his post, the German government press section has announced. Scholz met Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala in Berlin in May. Details of the trip will be released later, the press section added. Scholz and Czech senior officials are expected to talk about the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the impact of the war on the European Union, including energy security before the upcoming winter season. Czechia is presiding over the EU Council now.
