Robert Habeck, Germany's vice-chancellor, has said that the current geopolitical situation may have an impact on the operation of the Russia-Germany Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. Habeck made the statement at a joint press conference with Jacek Sasin, a Polish deputy prime minister, in Warsaw, on Friday. The German vice-chancellor was referring to the tensions between Russia and Ukraine which have alarmed the West and stoked fears that the Kremlin may be seeking to reinstate its former "zone of influence".
