The elections to the Chamber of Deputies, the eighth in the history of the independent Czech Republic, started at 14:00 today when polling stations opened all over the country. Voters will decide not only on the new lineup of the lower house of Czech parliament, but also on who will form a new government. This year, 5,242 candidates, nominated by 22 entities, are competing for 200 seats in the Chamber of Deputies, which is a lower number of contestants than in the previous elections in 2017.
