The Nobel Peace Prize is not only an award for its new winners, Russian Dmitry Muratov and Filipino Maria Ressa, but also encouragement for all journalists, Czech political analysts and media experts told CTK in reaction to the presentation of the laureates today. The bestowing of the prize on the two journalists fighting for the freedom of speech and information confirms the existence of the real worldwide problem of a jeopardy facing democracy and media independence, said Katerina Hrubesova, executive director of the Independent Journalism Foundation.
