French court debates tax evasion linked to Babis's villa purchase

The French court for investigation of serious crime (PNF) has started a preliminary inquiry over suspected money laundering and tax evasion linked to the purchase of real estate in France by former Czech PM Andrej Babis, daily Le Monde said on Friday. In reaction to the news, Babis told CTK that all his purchases of real estate in France had been in harmony with the law. He said he knows no details from the investigation and has the information from the media only. The PNF is inquiring into the circumstances of Babis's acquisition of a villa in Mougins, southern France, having launched the investigation in February, Le Monde said.
