Fourteen senators have signed a motion for the Constitutional Court to abolish the directive on the mandatory COVID-19 vaccination of some professional groups and seniors over 60 in Czechia, they told reporters today. The complainants argued that the directive is at variance with the Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms, and warn that the mandatory vaccination might lead to forced departures of some people from their work. The directive was approved by the previous government of Andrej Babis's ANO movement and the Social Democrats, ordering the obligatory vaccination against COVID-19 for medical and social care workers, firefighters, soldiers, police and customs officer, as well as the elderly over 60 as of March.
