Five rail operators show interest in Bratislava-Komarno route

Five entities have enrolled in the tender to select the operator of the passenger rail service on the Bratislava-Dunajska Streda-Komarno route, Transport Ministry spokesperson Karolina Ducka told TASR on Tuesday. The ministry launched a second tender within the framework of passenger rail transport liberalisation in early October. Private rail carrier Regiojet currently runs a service on the busy route and is interested in prolonging it. The deadline to submit applications was November 15. Regiojet's contract will expire in December 2020. The operator that wins the tender will service the route for the next ten years.
