Poland's first 'Impuls" 36 WEh hybrid passenger train made its first ever trip to mark the opening of the Traco 13th International Railway Fair which began in Gdansk, northern Poland, on Tuesday. According to Newag, a producer of railway rolling stock, the 'Impuls' type 36 WEh hybrid trains, in addition to electric motors, have internal combustion engines which allow them to travel sections of railway lines that do not have a traction power network. They can carry close to 330 passengers and reach speeds of up to 160 km/h.
