First Covid patient in Czech Republic treated with bamlanivimab

February 26th, 2021

Bamlanivimab, a medicine preventing a severe course of Covid-19 was on Thursday given to the first patient in the Czech Republic, a woman who was afterwards released from hospital without any troubles, Prague's Thomayer Hospital, the first to receive the medicine supply this week, has said. The hospital received 500 vials of bamlanivimab. It will provide the medicine to other Czech hospitals as needed. Bamlanivimab is designed for patients with risk factors and a potential serious course of Covid-19, who, if infected, might end in hospital and even succumb to the virus.
