Fully 8.5 percent of Hungarians have complaints about noise from the street or their neighbours, nearly the lowest rate in the European Union, survey data compiled by Eurostat show. The data from 2018 show the rate of the population that reported suffering from noise from the street or their neighbours was lower only in Croatia. Almost 28 percent of Germans complained of noise, close to the highest rate in the EU. The rate was 14.6 percent for the Czech Republic, 13.8 percent for Poland and 11.2 percent for Slovakia.
