Fees for reporting suspicious public contracts removed from Czech law

November 13th, 2019

The Constitutional Court (US) has lifted the duty to pay a 10,000-crown fee when reporting suspicious public contracts to the Czech Antitrust Office (UOHS), complying with a proposal by the Transparency International (TI) non-governmental organisation. The fee was also criticised by anti-corruption activists as well as ombudsman Anna Sabatova, who pointed out the lower number of reports filed with the UOHS since the fee's introduction.
