Ex-Financial Administration head Frantisek I., charged with machinations in public procurements and corruption, was released from custody on Friday at the behest of Special Prosecutor Daniel Lipsic, who explained that there are no remaining reasons to keep him in detention following several procedural steps that were taken this week. Also released was former head of Financial Administration's IT unit Milan G., who faces the same charges in the case. Both men had been in custody since January 29. According to spokeswoman of the Prosecutor-General's Office Jana Tokolyova, Frantisek I. has confessed to the crimes that he has been charged with, expressing regret, and he's cooperated with law enforcement when it comes to clarifying further crimes.
