The Council of the European Union adopted on Tuesday a provision that implements the Polish initiative under which a uniform rule will apply in the whole EU to respect the cultural, religious and linguistic identity of a child placed in a foster family. "For two years we were negotiating the issue of children's identity, understood as the right to their own culture, tradition, language and religion." Deputy Justice Minister Michal Wojcik said, cited in the ministry's Wednesday press statement. This is a great success for Poland's Ministry of Justice's efforts on the European Union forum, the statement added.
