EU passes conditionality mechanism by qualified majority, Poland against

The EU plan to make funds conditional on respecting rule of law was confirmed by a qualified majority of member states, the spokesman for the EU presidency tweeted on Monday. Poland and Hungary voted against the proposal, according to a PAP source close to the meeting.
