EU funds for Poland and Hungary should be blocked - EP VP

The European Commission should act immediately to block EU funds for Hungary as well as Poland, the European Parliament vice-president said in a text published on Tuesday. Katarina Barley told newspapers of the Funke media group that in the case of Hungary one can no longer speak of "democratic conditions." According to her, there are "deficits in terms of adherence to democratic principles" in Hungary and Poland. She added that "the situation was getting worse in Poland and especially in Hungary."
