The new anti-epidemic measures coming into force in the Czech Republic on Monday are insufficient and will not lead to the daily numbers of new Covid cases dropping to some 1,000 to 2,000 in three weeks, which would allow for relaxation of the rules, epidemiologist Rastislav Madar has told CTK. With 1,000 up to 2,000 new infections confirmed a day, it would be relatively safe to release the measures with tracking down contacts of those infected, said Madar, who is also the dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the Ostrava University.
