EP elections - Fidesz wins EP election with 52.14 pc

Hungary's ruling Fidesz alliance with the Christian Democrats won the European Parliament election with 52.14 percent amid a higher-than-projected turnout of 43.37 percent in Sunday's vote. The leftist opposition Democratic Coalition (DK) garnered 16.26 percent of the votes and liberal Momentum 9.92 percent. In addition, the Socialist-Parbesszed alliance and Jobbik made it to the European Parliament. Fidesz won 13 seats, DK four, Momentum two and Socialists-Parbeszed and Jobbik one each in the EU's legislative arm.
