Elderly Slovak woman slashes husband in neck with scissors, then takes own life

Bratislava region police are looking into an incident during which a 67-year-old woman in the town of Gajary allegedly grabbed a pair of scissors and slashed her 71-year-old husband in the neck before proceeding to kill herself. The man was taken to hospital with a slash wound near his carotid artery but was able to pull through. As for his wife, the police found her dead when they arrived at the scene. An investigator in the case has launched criminal proceedings concerning attempted murder.
