Eight accused of smuggling drugs into Czech prison

The Czech police have accused eight people of smuggling drugs into the prison in Valdice, regional police spokeswoman Magdalena Vlckova told journalists on Friday. Four prisoners and four of their friends, who were sending them the drugs, were accused, Vlckova said, speaking about the outcome of the police operation Rajec on which the police had worked since last September. Valdice is a tight security prison with about 1,100 inmates. Cooperating with the Valdice prison service, the detectives focused on uncovering and checking the routes of the consignments sent to the prisoners.
