President Andrzej Duda said on Monday after talks with US Vice-President Mike Pence that an increased presence of US troops in Poland was one of the subjects they discussed. Duda added he hoped a final agreement to this effect will be signed this year. "We talked about military cooperation, about US participation in the modernisation of the Polish army, and about Poland's planned increase of defence spending. We also spoke about our plans. It is not a secret that in the coming years Poland will buy more helicopters to replace the old ones," he told reporters. He expressed hope that US companies will take part in the planned tenders since US equipment is surely top class.
