Milan Kundera: From The Joke to Insignificance is the name of Czech film-maker Miloslav Smidmajer's new documentary about the Czech-born writer based in France, which will be premiered in Paris in early October before appearing in Czech cinemas, Gabriela Vagner has told CTK on its authors' behalf. Still before, the film will be presented at the Book World international book fair in Prague on Saturday, September 25, in the presence of Smidmajer. The guide through the film is a student who wants to interview Kundera in connection with his university thesis, although everybody knows that Kundera has granted no interviews for many years any more. The student addresses Kundera's friends, who help him, and together with the viewers he discovers Kundera's personality and thinking.
