DK calls for strengthening EU disease control centre

Hungary's opposition Democratic Coalition (DK) on Tuesday urged a stronger European response to the new coronavirus outbreak, calling on decision makers to strengthen the operations of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). Speaking to Hungarian reporters after a special session of the European Parliament in Brussels on Tuesday, DK MEP Sandor Ronai underlined the need for a specific epidemic protocol and a mandatory action plan to be implemented by all member states so that the national health authorities could be more effective in their response to the virus.
