Digital Visegrad Group seeks abolition of reprographic fee

The digital sector of the Visegrad (V4) countries, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia, appeals to governments and the European Commission to reform the system of financing artists' work based on a reprographic fee, the Digital V4 Group said on Wednesday. Digital V4 said that the current solution is outdated and requires a thorough remodelling, as the reprographic fee created in the 1960s does not correspond to technological changes that have occurred since its implementation, and modern and upcoming digital technological solutions escape its obsolete framework.
