Defence Ministry to buy helicopters with $50 mn from US and $61 mn from Slovakia

The Government on Wednesday gave approval for the Slovak Defence Ministry to accept a US offer amounting to 41.8 million euros in order to buy two fully equipped UH-60 M Black Hawk military helicopters and to add to equipment for other helicopters that Slovakia bought earlier. According to the Defence Ministry, procuring additional UH-60 M helicopters will reduce Slovakia's dependence on Russian military equipment, create better conditions for meeting the tasks of the Armed Forces Helicopter Air Force and save funds. The new technology could be delivered by 2025.
