Defence Ministry engages in City Bees initiative

The Defence Ministry has decided to participate in the City Bees project, placing two bee hives on its premises, ministry spokeswoman Martina Koval Kakascikova told TASR on Wednesday. "Bees are immensely important for us. Approximately 20,000 plant species would have difficulty reproducing and existing for that matter if there were no bees," Defence Minister Jaroslav Nad said. "The natural conditions would change to such a degree that it would be difficult for mankind to survive. If we want our society to be greener, change has to come from within us, and that's why we want to lead by example."
