May 18th, 2019

Czechs sorted 63 kg of paper, plastic, cardboard, glass and metal waste on average per capita last year, or 3 kg more than in 2017, according to the EKO-KOM recycling firm's data that CTK received from the Czech Association of Towns and Municipalities today. EKO-KOM operated the national system of communal waste recycling. In total, Czechs sorted 226,000 tonnes of paper, 149,000 tonnes of plastics, 139,500 tonnes of glass and 4000 tonnes of cardboard in the coloured containers in 2018. Apart from this, people brought 147,000 tonnes of metals to scrapyards.
