Czechs make up 3 percent of CERN experts, score successes

May 4th, 2012

Czechs have scored successes in the CERN European Organisation of Nuclear Research, making up 3 percent of its experts though the Czech contribution to the CERN budget is only 1.1 percent, Czech deputy education minister Ivan Wilhelm said during CERN head Rolf-Dieter Heuers visit on Friday. Heuer is visiting the Czech Republic on the 20th anniversary of the Czech accession to the CERN. More than 200 Czech researchers, one-third of whom are students, work in the CERN now.
