CzechRep needs EU money on top of cohesion fund to lower emissions

November 29th, 2019

The Czech Republic is not able to pay for its shift to a low-emissions economy and wants hundreds of billions of crowns from the EU, on top of the cohesion funds, in order to fulfil the goals set for 2050, Environment Minister Richard Brabec (ANO) said at a press conference on Friday. Also present at the press conference, Prime Minister Andrej Babis (ANO) repeated his previous statement that the Czech Republic must retain the right to decide whether it wants to build additional nuclear energy sources.
