The number of foreigners asking for international protection, asylum or complementary protection, in the Czech Republic rose last year, while dropping across the Visegrad Four countries, a People in Need NGO's analysis released on Thursday showed. The applications across the V4 were down by an annual one-third, mainly because of significantly fewer cases in Poland and Hungary, while Slovakia also had to deal with an increase. Most of the applicants were from Eastern Europe.
