Czechoslovak victims of Soviet gulag commemorated

May 10th, 2019

A commemoration was held at Prague's Olsany cemetery to pay tribute to the Ukrainians, Russians and Belarusians who fled from the Soviet Union and became Czechoslovak citizens in the inter-war period but the Soviet secret services dragged them to Siberian gulags after World War Two. Petr Marek, from the Without the Communists organising group, and Ostap Lukianchuk from the Ukrainian embassy, laid flowers at a plaque to the victims.
