Czechia sees 8,916 COVID cases Thursday, 5,771 people in hospital

Czechia saw 8,916 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, 600 fewer than on Wednesday but 800 more than a week ago, and the number of those in hospital slightly dropped to 5,771 as against Wednesday, 1,075 of them being in serious condition, the Health Ministry's data show today. The total number of coronavirus infections detected since the March 2020 epidemic outburst in Czechia has reached 1,073,966. Almost 956,000 of the patients have recovered, 17,902 have died and over 100,000 people are currently ill with COVID-19, most of them having a mild course of the disease.
