Czechia offers to extend its police mission to Slovenia

Czech Interior Minister Jan Hamacek said he offered the extension of the Czech police mission helping to guard the external Schengen border in Slovenia to his Slovenian counterpart Ales Hojs today and that the two countries were considered a joint purchase of security equipment. Slovenia asked Czechia for a police contingent at the end of last year. Ten Czech police have been operating at the Slovenian-Croat border since summer to prevent illegal migration. The Czech and Slovenian governments consider fighting illegal migration their priority.
