Czechia grants visas to 413 refugees from Ukraine on Thursday

August 5th, 2022

The Czech Republic has so far granted temporary protection visas to 406,725 Ukrainian refugees since the war in Ukraine started in February, with 413 visas issued on Thursday alone, some 70 fewer than a week ago, the Interior Ministry wrote on Twitter today. However, Interior Minister Vit Rakusan (Mayors and Independents, STAN) said last week that judging by the figures from school enrollment, there are under 300,000 Ukrainians staying in the country. Some have returned to Ukraine or left Czechia for other countries.
