Czechia grants visas to 500 refugees from Ukraine on Tuesday

August 3rd, 2022

The Czech Republic has so far granted temporary protection visas to 405,179 Ukrainian refugees since the war in Ukraine started in February, with 500 visas issued on Tuesday alone, 30 fewer than a week ago, the Interior Ministry wrote on Twitter today. Interior Minister Vit Rakusan said last week that judging by the figures from school enrollment, there are under 300,000 Ukrainians staying in the country. The temporary protection visas enable the holders to stay in the country for up to one year and secure their access to public health insurance, education and the labour market.
